European project

Started in February 2013 and ended in July 2015, the European Project Advance Cyber Defence Centre (ACDC) created a community of stakeholders for countering spreading of botnets.

ACDC collected tools to mitigate botnet threats and addressed both end users and network operators realizing

  1. the so-called Centralized Clearing House (CCH), a centralized database of incidents regularly fed with new data by network sensors scattered throughout Europe
  2. a netowork of National Support Centers (NSCs), providing support in each nation for the Internet users in order to mitigate botnet infections

Run by 28 partners from 14 countries, ACDC has delivered a community still active and committed in countering botnets, open to other stakeholders from public authorities, industry and academia in the Member States.
